2 Person Sauna – Tackle Congestive Heart Failure, Atherosclerosis, And Hypertension With A Friend

Conventional saunas have been around for thousands of years and it hasn’t been until the past century that a new kind of sauna has evolved called the infrared sauna. Infrared saunas come in many sizes, the 2 person sauna being very popular.

Far infrared saunas are different from the conventional sauna in that the conventional sauna is known as a steam sauna and an infrared sauna is known as a dry sauna. Instead of heating up the air as a steam sauna does the infrared sauna uses Far Infrared waves to warm things without actually heating up the air. Thus, in a far infrared sauna the air is warm and dry as opposed to the humid heat of the conventional sauna.

It’s quite well known that saunas are great for meditation and detoxification and especially enjoyable in a 2 person sauna but now in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology a new research shows that saunas may improve heart function in patients with congestive heart failure.

The study showed that after just two weeks of far infrared treatments that 17 out of 20 individuals had significant improvement in clinical symptoms for congestive heart failure, atherosclerosis, and hypertension.

Enjoy better health with a 2 person sauna from East Coast Saunas where you can enjoy time with your friend or loved one. After all your health is everything!

Will Infrared Sauna Therapy Help You Quit Smoking?

Here's a question for you. Will infrared sauna therapy help you quit smoking or doing other habit forming drugs? While I was doing a little research I was surprised what I found.

In the 1970s a controversial gentleman named L. Ron Hubbard designed a sauna program that enabled drug addicts to detoxify. He reasoned that folks were never addicted until they had taken drugs. And the more they took, the more they craved. He thought if he could get the drugs out of the body, the addict would crave no longer.

His book, Clear Body Clear Mind, was published in 1990 and his program was a great success. Not long after the results of the program were known, physicians from many specialties realized that this program might also be adapted for getting rid of all sorts of other types of chemicals, thereby restoring health in an endless variety of diseases.

Sauna use has been proven in the toughest, most resistant cases and has been helpful for getting rid of years of drug residues in addicts. Hubbard freed them from their cravings and addictions, impressively lowering recidivism.

Only when years of drug residues have been reduced are folks freed from the plague caused by the slow leeching out of subtherapeutic doses of stored drugs and toxins in their bodies.

According to Hubbard’s test the answer is yes, using an sauna for detoxing the body can be very helpful for those who are addicted to drugs or habit forming sustenance’s. And an infrared sauna can be even more affective because the Far Infrared Heat is absorbed better by the body than a conventional sauna which will cause you to sweet fast and longer allowing you to detox better.

If you are interested in quitting smoking or other addicting habits check out East Coast Sauna’s Infrared Sauna to see if it's right for you. After all, your health is everything!

What Is Infrared Sauna Therapy - Detoxify or Die

I came across a very interesting piece of information today regarding infrared sauna therapy and detoxifying our bodies. There's a lot of information about the benefits of an infrared sauna such as weight loss, pain relief, Cardiovascular Health, and Detoxification but what Sherry Rogers, M.D., Northeast Center for Environmental Medicine writes in her book "Detoxify or Die" shines a whole new light on the importance of detoxifying our bodies and how an infrared sauna can help in this process.

The skin plays an essential role in eliminating unwanted toxins. Toxins are stored in fat cells and the deep heat penetration of West Coast Saunas’ infrared technology removes these toxins form the fat cells. Detoxifying helps rid our bodies of potential carcinogenic heavy metals such as mercury and lead, as well as alcohol, nicotine, sodium, sulfuric acid and cholesterol.

Dr. Sherry Rogers puts it this way. “A sauna used to be thought of as a luxury. Studies now confirm that diet and environmental chemicals cause 95% of cancers. Furthermore, as the first generation of man exposed to such an unprecedented plethora of daily chemicals, we have learned that stored or undetoxified chemicals can mimic any disease. ‘ Incurable’ chronic diseases that were thought to have no known cause often disappear once toxic chemicals are gone. Since the far infrared sauna is the safest, most efficacious and economical way of depurating stored toxins, this makes it a household necessity.”

Founded in 2000, East Coast Saunas has been committed to providing superior Far Infrared Saunas in the United States and Canada. We specialize in defining a healthier lifestyle through our state-of-the-art heat therapy.

Sauna Benifites Of Using Carbon Wave 360 Technology

An importance difference between the traditional sauna and the infrared sauna is the technology used. A traditional sauna has to heat the air before you actually feel the heat.

Whereas an infrared sauna from East Coast Sauna uses a revolutionary technology which provides the most beneficial Far Infrared heat available.

At up to 6200 in², our Carbon Wave 360 panels offer a broad heat distribution, which leads to a greater amount of absorption. The heater’s total surface area far exceeds their competitors’.

East Coast Sauna's authentic Carbon Wave 360 heating panels are within the desired range for maximum human benefit. They utilize Carbon based mixed materials consisting of 20 different kinds of organic minerals and elements.

The operating temperature of East Coast Sauna's infrared saunas is between 60° and 150°F, compared to traditional saunas which operate at 300° and 1000°F. This is important because one can withstand longer therapy sessions, resulting in increased sweat production. Carbon Wave 360 heaters are not only efficient but luxurious, cost effective and safe.

2 Person Sauna – Infrared Saunas For Two

What’s so special about a 2 person sauna? Let’s face it, exercise can be difficult to maintain without the proper motivation. I have been running for about 10 years now and it’s not because I like to run but because I like how I feel after I run. My motivation is my health and my friends at work keep me motivated. That’s what is so special about a 2 person sauna. You have someone to help you stay motivated.

It helps to have some motivation when doing sauna sessions and that is where a 2 person sauna can help. It’s nice to have someone to talk with and someone that say’s “let’s get a sauna session in today” when you’re not really feeling like it. A 2 person sauna is a social motivation enhancer.
West Coast Saunas have a very nice 2 person sauna called the Del Mar Sauna which is packed with luxurious features like handsome all glass doors, chromotherapy lights, and our exclusive Carbon Wave 360 heating panels is more affordable than you might think. The Del Mar is a great 2 person sauna and is sure to be your favorite retreat!

You might ask what is so exclusive about the Carbon Wave 360 Carbon Fiber heating panels. There is a significant difference between West Coast Saunas’ technology and the others. West Coast Saunas’ exclusive Carbon Wave 360 organic, carbon fiber panels are the latest cutting edge technology. They provide an unprecedented 576 in² of surface area heat, compared to ceramic tubes which only provide 25-50 in². This is important, because West Coast Saunas’ carbon fiber panels offer a broad heat distribution leading to a greater amount of absorption. Some ceramic heaters can make it difficult for an individual to lean against, as opposed to West Coast Saunas' carbon based panels, which have a lower surface temperature.

The heat produced by West Coast Saunas’ infrared sauna heaters is radiant energy which is the same as the heat from the sun, only without the harmful UV rays. This specific carbon heater is made up of approximately 20 organic minerals and elements creating infrared waves that heat your body directly, instead of just the air around you like traditional Finnish saunas do.

The lower temperatures in an infrared sauna are very effective and may allow for up to three times the sweat volume produced compared to a traditional sauna. Far infrared technology is thought to be seven times more effective at detoxifying metals such as mercury and aluminum, as well as cholesterols, nicotine, alcohol, ammonia, sulfuric acid and other environmental toxins when compared to conventional heat, or steam saunas. In the West Coast Saunas’ 2 person sauna the therapeutic operating temperature is much cooler, 110°-130°F compared to a traditional sauna which requires temperatures of 169°-200°F. This is important because one can withstand longer therapy sessions, resulting in increased sweat production.

Have more fun with a 2 person sauna. With a 2 person sauna you can make your sauna time more personal with your spouse. Use a 2 person sauna to relax and talk with your friend. Or just enjoy the extra room as you relax in your 2 person sauna.

What is a Far Infrared Sauna?

An infrared sauna is different than a conventional sauna. The main difference is that a conventional sauna is a wet heat and infrared sauna produces infrared light waves. An infrared wave is a frequency that generates heat.

The infrared sauna uses Far Infrared heat which is better at penetrating the body’s tissues than regular heat from a conventional sauna. The energy output of Far Infrared heat corresponds very closely to our body’s own radiant energy which allows our bodies to absorb close to 93% of the infrared waves that reach our skin. There are numerous health benefits you can reap from regularly infrared sauna use.

You can see from the diagram below that infrared wavelengths lie between visible light and microwaves on the electromagnetic spectrum. Infrared waves will result in heating when absorbed by an object, due to some of its energy being passed to the atom with which it interacts. Infrared sauna waves can penetrate up to 45mm into the body which increases the body's core temperature.

A bather must remain in a traditional sauna much longer than they would in an infrared sauna because a traditional sauna heats the body's surface and the heat doesn’t go deep through the body like Infra-Red heat does.

Traditional saunas work by putting ladles of water onto hot stones on a stove, inducing steam therefore heat the air, which heats the air of the sauna to high temperatures. Far infrared saunas work by heating the body directly, therefore the air temperature isn't nearly as warm or stifling as a traditional sauna.

The infrared sauna bathing method can be efficient to stimulate sweating of up to 3 times as much as a traditional sauna and will expel many toxins which are harmful to the body.

Far infrared Sauna Benefits

  • Uses less Energy than traditional saunas
Infrared saunas use very little energy to operate. The amount of energy used can be compared to a hair dryer and the sauna room can be heated in just 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Lower temperatures than traditional saunas
A sauna room doesn't have to be super heated to induce effective sweating. Infrared saunas can make the user sweat up to 3 times as much as a traditional sauna while operating at a lower temperature. For those who find extreme temperatures taxing and stressful on the body the lower temperatures are preferred over the muggy heat the traditional saunas produce.
  • Strengthens cardiovascular systems and Increases blood circulation
Physical exercise is good but if you’re like me jogging can really make your knees hurt. And cardiovascular conditioning is important for our health. As the body's core temperature increases, the body will start to try to cool itself. As this happens the heart will beat faster to pump more blood, oxygen and water around the body in an effort to help it cool down. The Journal of the American Medical Association August 1981 states: "Many of us who run do so to place a demand on our cardiovascular system, not to build big leg muscles. Regular use of a Sauna imparts a similar stress on the cardiovascular system, and its regular use may be as effective, a means of cardiovascular conditioning and burning of calories, as regular exercise".
  • Ease stiffness and joint pain
An infrared sauna can penetrate up to 1.5” deep into muscle tissue, 93% of Infra-Red energy is absorbed through our skin. The benefit of heating these tissues is that it relaxes the muscles cell’s which causes the blood vessels to widen. This helps in reducing muscle spasms, joint stiffness and achiness, as well as general aches and pains due to conditions such as Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
  • Removes toxins and mineral waste
Sweating in an infrared sauna can help to detoxify the body of harmful impurities, heavy metals, acids, sodium, nicotine, alcohol and many more substances.
  • Improves skin condition
An infrared sauna session leaves the skin glowing and fresh. This effect is produced by the increased blood and nutrients to the capillaries through increased circulation. The removal of toxins also helps to keep the skin looking youthful and vibrant. The infrared sauna may also relieve acne and give improved skin tone, color and elasticity.
  • Strengthens the immune system
When the body's core temperature increases an artificial fever is induced. As the body thinks it has a fever its production of white blood cells increases, improving the body's overall resistance to foreign viruses.
  • Reduces stress and fatigue
Life can be stressful and stress isn’t good for our health. Setting in an infrared sauna will increase you circulation which releases endorphins, loosening tight muscles, helping you feel better all over. After a session in an infrared sauna, you will feel refreshed, renewed and rejuvenated. Using an infrared sauna is a great way to relax.

When sitting back in the radiant heat of your infrared sauna from West Coast Saunas, stress and tension melts away. After a session in an infrared sauna, you will feel refreshed, renewed and rejuvenated. It has been clinically shown that an infrared sauna can reduce fatigue. Here is a statement by the Masuda Clinic.

Thermal therapy using far-infrared ray dry sauna was performed for patients with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). Symptoms such as fatigue, pain, and low-grade fever were dramatically improved on two patients. And prednisolone administration was discontinued and became socially rehabilitated 6 months after discharge. On other 11 patients with CFS, physical symptoms such as fatigue and pain improved, too. Furthermore, we reported that repeated thermal therapy had relaxation effect and diminishes appetite loss and subjective complaints in mildly depressed patients. These results suggest that repeated thermal therapy may be a promising method for the treatment of CFS.

Beware The Invisible Light - Far Infrared Light Is Visible And Sauna Safe?

Should you worry about your safety when setting in an infrared sauna? The short answer is NO. Now let me explain some of the differences between good light and bad light.

Far Infrared energy is sunlight minus the UV light. UV light is part of the bad light that can damage your skin if over exposed. UV light is also light you cannot see. Far Infrared light is part of the natural light and is good light and is visible to our sight.

Light comes in different wavelengths. Ultraviolet light has a shot wavelength. Colors of light near red light have long wavelengths. The shorter the wavelength the more harmful it is to our bodies. The infrared sauna from West Coast Saunas uses Far Infrared light which is part of the sun light spectrum whose wavelength is just below the visible red light. Far Infrared light is good light.

The entire spectrum of sunlight consists of visible and invisible light rays. The colors of visible light rays are red, orange, yellow, green, indigo, blue, and violet. The invisible light rays are Ultra Violet, X-rays, Gamma, Cosmic, Microwave, Long Wave, Electrical Wave and Infrared.

Electromagnetic waves between visible light and microwaves are called infrared waves. The wavelength of infrared waves range from 0.76 micron to 1,000 microns; this range is further subdivided into the ranges of Near, Medium, and Far-Infrared Rays with the following wavelengths: 0.76 to 1.5microns; 1.5 to 4 microns; and 4 to 1,000 microns respectively.

As stated earlier, the longer the wavelength the safer it is for our bodies. Far Infrared Rays are long and safe.

A sauna benefit of the Far Infrared Rays is that they are thermal. The thermal energy is what heats up the body causing it to sweat. Sweating is good for our body because it helps to rid our skin of toxins such as mercury, lead, alcohol, nicotine, sodium, sulfuric acid and cholesterol. An infrared sauna will help you detox.

This may be more than you ever wanted to know about good and bad light but now you know that using an infrared sauna is safe.

Sauna Benefits - Detoxification

Detoxification - An important sauna health benefit

Do you have a poor complexion? The use of a sauna is a great way to help the health of your skin and your body. The use of an infrared Sauna is good way to detoxify you body and bring you complexion back to health.

Toxins are stored in fat cells and the deep heat penetration of West Coast Saunas’ infrared technology removes these toxins from the fat cells. Detoxifying helps rid your body of potential carcinogenic heavy metals such as mercury and lead, as well as alcohol, nicotine, sodium, sulfuric acid and cholesterol. You can cleanse your body with ease by detoxifying in a West Coast Sauna.

Through the use of your West Coast Sauna, the infrared heat will warm your body up which brings the blood close to your skin and dramatically increases circulation. According to Dr. Lawrence Wilson, this helps remove toxins from some hard to reach places like bones, sinuses, and teeth.

Many forms of bacteria are heat sensitive, so the heat from an infrared sauna can weaken or kill some of them. Also, cells damaged by toxic metals and chemicals are weaker than healthier cells. Exposure to some intense heat may be a death sentence for those weaker cells.

Sweating - An Important of Detoxification

Sweating caused by infrared sauna heat is a great way for removing toxins. As the largest organ of our body, the skin plays an essential role in eliminating unwanted toxins. Some doctors even consider our skin a third kidney. Many substances eliminated through your kidneys can be eliminated through your skin instead. In this way, sweating helps reduces the activity of your eliminative organs (liver, kidneys, and colon).

Sweating from exercise is not the same as sweating in an infrared sauna. Infrared saunas conserve your body’s energy by providing an external source of heat. This leaves more energy for detoxification.

Benefits of Sauna - Pain Relief

Pain Relief is one of the Benefits of Sauna Use

Infrared energy can penetrate up to 1.5” deep into muscle tissue and 93% of this energy is absorbed through our skin. Dilating the blood vessels can help in reducing muscle spasms, joint stiffness and achiness, as well as general aches and pains due to conditions such as Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Evidence also shows that when far infrared energy is used 24-48 hours after the injury the time it takes for sprains and strains to heal is reduced. You may also notice less swelling and reduced pain.

Benefits of sauna use include the radiant heat of a far infrared saunas which has been shown to be especially beneficial to people with sports injuries, fibromyalgia, arthritis, and other chronic pain conditions. A West Cost Sauna infrared sauna is ideal to help with your pain.

If you have lived with poor health, perhaps you do now, haven’t you wondered if your health would ever return to normal? I lived with sciatic pain for about ten years and I seriously wondered if I would have to live with pain the rest of my life. If you can relate with me or would like to maintain your healthy life style then I suggest looking into the many sauna benefits of using an infrared sauna.

An infrared sauna is different than a conventional sauna. The infrared sauna uses Far Infrared heat which is better at penetrating the body’s tissues than regular heat in a conventional sauna. This is only one of the many sauna benefits of the infrared sauna. The energy output of Far Infrared heat corresponds very closely to our body’s own radiant energy which allows our bodies to absorb close to 93% of the infrared waves that reach our skin.

Here are 8 amazing sauna benefits you can enjoy from using an infrared West Coast Sauna.

  • Pain Relief
  • Weight Loss
  • Cardiovascular Health
  • Stress Relief & Relaxation
  • Beautification of Skin
  • Tissue Elasticity
  • Chromotherapy or Light Therapy

Enjoy better health with these sauna benefits as you use your West Coast Sauna.

Far Infrared Sauna Benefits

Far Infrared Sauna VS. Conventional Sauna

Every wonder what the difference is between an infrared sauna and a conventional sauna? The big difference is the way the saunas are heated.

The infrared sauna is heated by far infrared heat which is used to directly penetrate the body's tissues and can reach a depth of over 1 1/2 inches right into the muscle. The energy output from the infrared sauna is tuned to correspond so closely to the body's own radiant energy that our bodies absorb close to 93% of the infrared waves that reach our skin.

The conventional sauna or steam sauna relies only on indirect heat. You first need to heat the air currents and then be in direct contact with the hot air to produce its healing effects.

With Far Infrared heat and West Coast Saunas' unique Carbon Wave 360 Panels, less than 20% of the far infrared energy heats the air, leaving over 80% available to be directly converted to heat within our bodies. Therefore, a Far Infrared Sauna can warm its user(s) to a much greater depth much more efficiently than a conventional sauna.

So what sauna is the better sauna? For the reasons mentioned above, I choose the infrared sauna.
